To the few followers that have been with me over the years, you may, or may not, have noticed that a recent blog story was removed in large from my site. I have in fact hidden these posts as I intend to publish, and soon.
Warlock’s Dream was been a long time work, starting in 2018, and I have learnt a few things in writing it. There have been a number of stories that I have started but only one so far I have competed, except for a few short stories written for University courses, now lost to the junk yard of accumulated stuff. This is the first passion story I have completed.
Learning to let go of the planning, and letting the story grow organically has been a big shift in my writing. Writing by the seat of your pants in a way, and it as been an experience that has brought surprises and unexpected twists I had not even envisioned in the beginning.
I hope to have things ready to submit soon and get my little tale of rivalry, manipulation, resistance, and growth commercially available soon. I am currently getting cover art suggestions from a few artists and once that is done, it’s time to publish.
I have chosen to self publish in this instance. First, this is not a large novel, more a novella, and as a first time author, I don’t have the courage and money to invest in professional publishing options. Self-publishing seems a better alternative. That said, I am not locked in as such.
While that is in a holding pattern, I have already started work on a larger Sci-Fi story, inspired by the likes of Babyon 5, The Expanse, Blade Runner, and Firefly. A story of a reluctant Security Chief, brought out of a sort of working retirement to fill the shoes of a murdered Station Chief of a unique diplomatic space station. I may post a Chapter One preview at some point.
