First Reflection

I am starting a new blog and as a first post, I would like to briefly introduce myself. I am an actor. Not a high profile one, but I have appeared in a few movies and even a few stage plays. That is not important nor the point of the blogs I intend to publish.

Being an actor requires a person to dig in to the deepest places of their heart, mind and soul. You carve out portions of yourself that usually remain hidden, in order to create characters that have pathos and life. The process of creating a character can often reveal interesting things about yourself, about the people around you, your place in the world, and even the affect you have on the world or it has on you.

Sometimes it can be confrontational as you draw on aspects that you are fearful, shamed or angry of. Other times if can be entirely therapeutic as you reveal things thought lost. Then there are times where you find the youthful joy for life and self.

At least, that is how I feel about it.

The moments of reflection, realisation and revelation become a power house of energy that motivate me to not only be a better actor, but a better person. So from this, I need a place where I can record and share my thoughts.

I don’t ask that you agree with me, or even listen/read what I may have to say. At times I may not make any sense, and that is not unusual. So why post anything at all? I have found that by sharing ones thoughts, letting others read and discuss, will often lead to more fruitful revelations and discoveries, for me. So in a way, this is a selfish venture into self-analysis. I will write when I have something to write which may be often, it may not. Who can say?

If you choose to join my on this voyage, then I welcome you. If you prefer to read, then I hope you like what you see.

I am but a simple man with a few ideas.
